When you think health, this should most definitely include your furry friends. With all the latest trends in food, what you buy for your pet should also adhere to high-quality standards and safety. Just like grocery items on the shelf, reading labels and considering what is inside are equally important. What about ingredients sourced locally? Reducing waste and being able to pronounce what’s inside does matter. Many households are changing the way we feed and nourish our dogs including whole, human-grade ingredients and recipes developed and approved by veterinarians. Our dogs are part of our family and just like everyone in the house, it’s important to think about healthier choices and not cut corners when it comes to the well-being of our dogs. I wanted to share some treats that are tasty (usually gone in three seconds) and approved by our dog.
Here are some of the single ingredient treats we give to Walter.
· Freeze dried liver, salmon or minnows
· Bull sticks
· High-quality deer antlers
· Dehydrated fish skins / sweet potatoes
· Jerky sticks
Remember, anything you give to your dog should ALWAYS be supervised.
Treats can also be a great strategy for teaching positive behavior, fostering good healthy relationships, and maintaining optimal weight for your pet to have a long, flourishing life.
